The company was founded in 2004 by Allen Fredrickson to provide business processing services to the healthcare industry. Starting with only a handful of clients, Signature has grown to serve hundreds of Federal and commercial healthcare clients nationwide.
The Air Force awarded Signature a five-year contract to service nearly 40 MTFs in October of 2004. Over the course of the initial contract, Signature generated over $210M, tripling Air Force Medical Services (AFMS) collections from the previous five-year period. This outstanding performance led AFMS to award Signature a second competitive contract for the TPC services in 2010 and a third in 2015.

Signature was chosen as one of five vendors on the Medical Administrative Support Services (MASS) IDIQ contract to provide non-clinical support positions on-site at Military Treatment Facilities throughout the Air Force. Signature provided services to 44 Air Force MTFs across 41 states and 21 labor categories. Under this contract, Signature was awarded the first centralized coding task order to perform medical coding, auditing and training service for 34 MTFs representing over 50% of the Air Force.
Received both the Omaha Best Places to Work Award and the Omaha Chamber Excellence in Business Award.
Reached milestone of recovering over $500 million dollars for clients.
Signature was awarded a contract for payer support with Veterans Health Administration to process claims for their community care initiative. This program started with only one VISN and processed 1.6 million transactions in its first year and grew to serve all 21 VISNs and processing 2.6 million transactions per month.
Signature signed its first commercial coding client under its new division, Signature Performance Health Care (SPHC). SPHC focuses on remote Health Information Management services and Outsourced Business Office functions for Community Health organizations with strong ties to the rural and critical access sector.
Signature reached a milestone of employing 500 people nationwide. The same year, Signature began offering scholarship opportunities to associates’ children toward higher education.
Cerner, a recognized industry leader in healthcare technology, was selected to modernize VA’s electronic health records. Signature was selected from hundreds to be one of the 23 organizations joining Cerner to provide experience and expertise to implement the new system. Additionally, Signature was asked to be part of an elite Senior Executive Steering Council, a smaller group of executives charged with ensuring a strong and collaborative relationship among partners.
