For the last 68 years, the healthcare industry has celebrated National Hospital Week. This annual celebration is a time to recognize anyone who supports hospitals and their unwavering dedication to the health and wellness of those they serve within our communities. This year, National Hospital Week will be celebrated May 9th-15th.
Recognizing hospital staff and the work they do is important every day of the year, but celebrating their resilience and commitment to their calling has taken on a new meaning this year due to the pandemic. At Signature Performance, we have witnessed first-hand the immense amount of empathy, grit, and innovative thinking that individuals within the healthcare field, those who are patient facing and those who are not, have positively contributed to the healthcare experience.
According to data that was released on April 1 by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), student enrollment in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral nursing programs actually increased in 2020 despite concerns that the ongoing pandemic may impact those who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing. The AACN data highlighted that programs that are designed to prepare new registered nurses at the baccalaureate level have seen a 5.6% increase in enrollment.
The commitment our current and future healthcare heroes have exemplified during uncharted times has been admirable. With the recovery process underway, many healthcare industry leaders are beginning to take the necessary steps to figure out how they can enhance care options and administrative processes based on what worked and didn’t in 2020. The level of evaluation being done within the healthcare administrative industry to accelerate efficiency, not just for providers, but for everyone involved within the care cycle, deserves to be recognized because it is not a small undertaking. With healthcare administrative demands making up 30% of costs within the industry, our team at Signature Performance is dedicated to streamlining essential healthcare administrative tasks in order to reduce that financial burden and enhance the healthcare experience for everyone. The shift in the patient experience this past year is unlike anything the healthcare industry has seen in some time.
At Signature Performance, our team is proud to stand with and support healthcare providers as they navigate administrative demands that the healthcare industry faces, pre and post pandemic. When providers become over extended due to the burden of ongoing administrative obstacles and can not take on new patients, access to high-quality care decreases and the patient experience suffers. Our team is here to help providers streamline their administrative process, which in turn allows providers the time and resources they need to build greater connections with their patients.
Our experience on both the provider and payer side of the healthcare administrative industry is what allows our team the opportunity to evaluate obstacles from a variety of perspectives, create custom solutions, and build strong bridges of trust between providers and payers. Our team believes that the healthcare industry in the United States deserves only the best and that sentiment is what motivates our dedicated team to do our very best every day for healthcare systems of every size.
