What Will Healthcare Leaders Be Talking About in 2024

The healthcare industry in the United States is a dynamic industry that undergoes continuous transformation. The advancements in technology, medical discoveries, and industry regulations contribute to a perpetual state of evolution and adaptation. This ongoing evolution not only shapes the way healthcare is delivered but also underscores the importance of flexibility and agility in responding to emerging challenges and opportunities within the healthcare industry.

At Signature Performance, our team is fully engaged and keeping a close watch on industry demands throughout 2024 to ensure our efforts are making a significant impact on the healthcare experience for providers, payers, and patients.

The integration of AI applications within the healthcare industry has the potential to bring about transformative changes by streamlining diagnostic testing, refining treatment plans, and optimizing overall efficiency for providers. Leveraging the advancements of AI and machine learning for a healthcare setting will only continue to expand in 2024. At Signature, we recognize that healthcare workers invest a significant amount of time in administrative duties that take them away from what matters most, treating patients within their community. With proper implementation and guidance, AI and machine learning can be valuable allies in a clinical setting. By automating these essential administrative tasks, clinicians can be given the ability to allocate more of their time and resources to direct patient interaction, ultimately fostering improved access to care, patient experiences, and outcomes.

We are in an environment where our partners continue to face operational challenges with talent (attraction, retention and managing burnout) as well as trying to navigate a financial landscape with increased labor and funding costs. Our customers work tirelessly to provide access to care for their constituents and are savvy to recognize how to grow through these pressures. Whether it is an EHR conversion to increase efficiency, or an acquisition to grow a footprint, with growth, there is the natural tendency to face speed bumps along the way. Hospitals recognize that in some situations the ability to partner on certain functions can lead to cost savings that can be reinvested elsewhere within the organization. Signature is excited to be that partner of choice, whether it is through claims administration to our payors, or being an outsourced revenue cycle partner to a provider undergoing consolidation or helping consult a provider as they prepare to undergo an EHR implementation. We are excited and optimistic about 2024 around how industry can help our partners enhance access to care and reduce the administrative burden, which are fundamental tenets of our organization.

For the last 20 years, Signature Performance has improved efficiency for clients by streamlining essential administrative tasks. This has been accomplished by utilizing the latest technology, retaining experts who have dedicated their careers to improving healthcare, and implementing industry best practices. In 2024, we are eager to hit the ground running, especially with the expansion of AI capabilities within the industry. AI holds the potential not just to optimize clinical workflows and improve efficiency for healthcare providers, but also to profoundly impact the quality of care provided to patients. In 2024, the healthcare sector will continue to invest in ways AI can enhance a more personalized healthcare experience, both within a clinical setting and within a patients' home. As we head into the New Year, AI is positioned to deliver nuanced insights into risk factors and recommend preventive measures which actively contribute to favorable health outcomes for patients. These unique insights will ultimately allow clinicians to allocate more time to direct patient care, reduce administrative burden, and burnout.

Over the last few years, Signature has successfully developed ClaimsXM, a tailored claims processing platform supporting the VA's veteran family program that has earned national recognition and awards for its high auto adjudication rate. In 2024, Signature Performance aims to extend these capabilities to all interested customers, emphasizing our commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of beneficiaries. With the healthcare industry focusing on improving the health of various populations, we are committed more than ever to improving the health and well-being of the population of beneficiaries for whom we pay claims. To accomplish this goal, one of the major capabilities for population management is to take administrative claims-based data and convert it into actionable clinical information. Our Clinical Insights Program (CIP) will transform administrative claims data into actionable clinical information, enabling clinicians to provide more proactive healthcare management. By identifying high-risk individuals and implementing preventive treatment plans, CIP aligns with our goal of not only reducing administrative costs but improving access to healthcare in the United States. With a focus on data-driven care coordination, Signature is positioned to efficiently support diverse patient populations and clinicians for years to come.

The role of technology in healthcare has always been crucial, influencing nearly every aspect of the care cycle within the industry. With Customer Experience (CX) technology rapidly advancing, the discussion has shifted to how to not only implement a human-centered design approach for federal customers, but how to be an impactful leader in the digital landscape to ensure ongoing and positive customer experiences. Navigating this landscape requires strategic leadership and a commitment to inclusivity, intuitiveness, and responsiveness. Learning how to best meet the access needs of customers in the federal space will pave the way for a more efficient, patient-centric, and satisfying healthcare experience in 2024 and beyond.

At Signature Performance, our commitment to improving the health of our clients’ business and making the lives of the people we work with better is a mission our team is passionate about every day of the year. We are dedicated to making a lasting impact in healthcare by serving the payer, provider, federal and commercial sectors. Our experience on both the payer and provider side of the business is what allows our team the opportunity to evaluate healthcare industry issues from a variety of perspectives and create custom solutions that get to the core of some of the biggest challenges facing healthcare today.
